Allegiant Solutions Casing Chronicles

INNOVATION UNDER PRESSURE: THE 26" AS-AHXL SOLUTION
Problem: Our client came to us needing a large threaded casing option - 26" in fact - a size not previously tackled in our industry. And… they needed it quickly. This size was a significant step up in both size and complexity from our existing range. This was more than a request; it was a call to push the boundaries of what we thought possible.
Solution: True to our reputation for embracing challenges and crafting innovative solutions, we took this opportunity to expand our A Series Range and created the 26" AS-AHXL thread range. Our journey to create the AS-AHXL was a testament to innovation and agility. From procuring larger tooling to extending our welding line to accommodate this mammoth size, every step was a dance of precision engineering and ingenuity.
Delivering Excellence: The best part? We didn’t just create the AS-AHXL but we met the client's deadline and the product ran safely and efficiently. A thrilled client and a proud moment for our team. The AS-AHXL is more than a product; it's a symbol of our commitment to solving our clients' challenges, no matter how big. It's a promise that at Allegiant Solutions, we don’t just meet expectations - we exceed them.

Kieran’s unique ability to mentally visualize detailed processes helps him excel, and his day starts with coffee, the sunrise, and planning. Thanks to Kieran for his dedication and inspiring leadership!
CASING WEAR INSIGHTS – 3 WAYS TO REDUCE WEAR
Casing Wear Insight #1 - Connection Selection Making the right product choice can make or break your casing’s performance. Misaligned welded casing, or connections with internal diameter changes or gaps between connections, can create excessive turbulence, causing wear faster than you'd expect.

Casing Wear Insight #2 - Installation Methods Have you considered that the install method chosen may lead to premature wear in your casing? Installation methods may at times be limited due to your unique project requirements but nonetheless, can cause wear. One example of this is when casing is welded during installation, there is a large likelihood that there is excess weld penetration or misalignment at the joint. Another example is when a raise bore rig has been utilised and the associated tool flats required on the casing in order for installation. The tool flats themselves can actually compromise the wear ability of the casing or connection at the root of the flat. We have been able to work with clients to identify alternative installation methods to reduce the likelihood of premature wear which resulted in our commencement of our Casing Installation Division.

Casing Wear Insight #3 - Material Selection Material grade and coating quality matter more than you think. Opting for the wrong material—such as an inferior material grade or lower performing ceramic lined options due to budget restraints can result in poor wear resistance and ultimately ended up costing more in the long-term due to having to replace the casing prematurely. Other lining or treatment methods also claim to extend the life by sometimes 5-7 times however the data that this is based on is often misleading as the comparison is based on low grade casing that wouldn't typically be used for applications such as pastefill or backfill. Allegiant can assist you to make the right material choice by asking the right questions and understanding the whole project requirements.
